Our Instructors
Julie Atwood
After the birth of my second child, I shifted from teaching group exercise to finding more balance and discovered yoga. I fell in love with the practice in 2004, became a 200-Hour RYT in 2012, and have been teaching passionately ever since. With a background in dance and gymnastics, I'm deeply committed to safe and creative sequencing, which led me to earn my 300-Hour certification through Universal Power Yoga in 2021 and complete an advanced sequencing course with Rachel Scott in 2022. I teach a wide range of formats: power, vinyasa, slow flow, yin, gentle/beginners, and yoga sculpt and love supporting students of all levels, bodies, and abilities on their journeys.
Shirley Killian
I am passionate about Original Hot Yoga because I have both seen and felt the benefits of this practice since I started doing it in 2016. Initially I approached this yoga as a fitness endeavor but soon learned the deeper benefits and to accept myself today, not some future version of myself but the real me in the mirror. My hope is that students will come to class with the same spirit and discover the benefits of this practice and physically feel better too. My intention as an instructor is to create an atmosphere of inclusion because yoga is for everybody.
Sarah Frances Dillon
Sarah Frances has been teaching mat Pilates with certification from Balanced Body Movement for the past 3 years! She was formerly an instructor at Henhouse Studios in Adamsville and is excited for a new chapter at the Hot Spot. She enjoys long walks with her dog and anything dark chocolate :)
Beth Ann Caspersen
Beth Ann weaves life lessons, community, and a deep love of yoga into every class. Her flow-based practice blends strength, agility, creative movement, and mindfulness — all delivered with a playful, engaging style and a little sass. A 200-Hour RYT with a background training coffee sensory specialists worldwide, she brings global influences, funky flows, and international beats to the mat. A lifelong learner at heart, Beth Ann creates space for students to explore, grow, and connect.
Sophie Piffard
Sophie discovered yoga through her high school soccer team as a tool for physical healing — and quickly found its mental and spiritual benefits just as transformative. Since completing her 200-Hour YTT in Vermont in 2022 and earning a Level 1 LYB Yoga for Traumatic Brain Injury Certification, she has continued to deepen her practice and her commitment to sharing it with others. Sophie's classes are accessible, fun, and empowering, rooted in mindful movement and community. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome exactly as you are.
Lauren Milne
Lauren has always had a passion for competitive sports and movement. She found Pilates as a way to stay strong, balanced, and injury-free while continuing to do the activities she loves. Pilates supported her through pregnancy and postpartum, deepening her appreciation for movement that both strengthens and restores the body. As a Balance & Body Mat certified instructor, Lauren brings energy, encouragement, and the perfect mix of challenge and relaxation to every class. She creates a welcoming environment where clients can feel empowered, strong, and restored.
Jen Booth
Jen (she/her) is a 200-hour CYT with almost 30 years of professional social work experience. Her classes are trauma-sensitive, blending mental health knowledge and yoga philosophy to guide students through mindful movement and breathwork in a friendly, fun, and safe environment. She believes yoga offers a path to greater balance, strength, flexibility, and peace — and is committed to making that accessible to everyone. Agency is strongly encouraged, modifications are always offered, and self-limiting beliefs are gently challenged.
Jen completed her 200-hour training in Solar Flow Yoga under Abbe Ciulla at Troy City Yoga in Fall River, MA, and has been practicing for over 25 years. A lover of the outdoors, she weaves nature themes into her classes and dharma talks. Outside the studio, you'll find her walking her dog, tending her gardens, and spending time with those dear to her.
